Conventional Sealant
Ultraseal PC504/66
The highly approved PC504/66 methacrylate sealant
has over recent decades become the benchmark for sealing performance
and quality in a wide variety of applications, offering unrivalled
performance and temperature stability alongside consistently
high productivity.
As well as providing greater productivity, this pioneering sealant
was the first to offer consistently high quality, whilst also
avoiding the safety and environmental issues associated with
its predecessors.
These factors saw Ultraseal PC504/66 rapidly become the preferred
choice worldwide in sectors ranging from military and aerospace
components to high volume automotive applications. With a proven
track record spanning more than a quarter of a century in these
demanding applications, it offers unrivalled quality in terms
of sealing performance and temperature stability.
Exhaustive trials in Europe, the USA and Japan – the world’s
most technically demanding markets – show it can operate
effectively between -50°C and 200°C, in metal castings,
plastic mouldings, sintered components other porous materials.
Ultraseal PC504/66 also offers low shrinkage during polymerisation,
producing an outstanding void filling capacity, while the product’s
low viscosity enables faster, deeper penetration even into the
finest micro-porosity.
It is suitable for use in both large batch and lean manufacturing
applications, producing consistent high quality performance,
whatever the size or nature of the components being treated.

Class 1 & 3 Approval
This
approval process subjects test rings to a number of stringent
sealing capability tests. These show the chemical resistance
and thermal stability over a wide range.
Ultraseal EC505
Ultraseal is always striving to develop new products
to bring tangible advantages to its customers whilst taking
due regard of the environment and the ever changing Health &
Safety legislation. Most methacrylate sealants have some elements
which are dangerous to the environment and are toxic to aquatic
organisms requiring them to be labelled with “dead fish
dead tree” symbols.
Ultraseal EC505 sealant has recently been developed and is specially
formulated to have low eco-toxicity by careful selection of
raw materials and is not classified as toxic to aquatic organisms.
The formulation has also focused on good washability to minimise
or eliminate polymer build up on baskets.
In keeping with all of the Ultraseal range EC505 sealant exhibits
low consumption rates and excellent sealabilty together with
high temperature and chemical resistance.
